The Johnny & Barry Show

In a jam-packed episode of The Johnny and Barry Show, the guys introduced their first-ever contest, offering listeners a chance to win a romantic excursion for two at The Inn at Leola Village. Yes, you and guest will travel on your own dime to beautiful Lancaster Pennsylvania — Amish Country — but when you get their, the accommodations are on us! While Johnny wants to win, he can’t because it is against the rules, so we do encourage you to enter at CngRadio.com/Contest.

The guys then welcomed traveling English teacher Tyler Smith to discuss what it’s like to teach English around the world. Tyler details his journey and gives firsthand advice for those in search of a new career and are inclined to travel — at the same time!

Before Tyler leaves, he talks about discovering Buddhism in South Korea and Thailand, and speaks about his experience at a 10-day silent retreat. It turns out while you can’t talk, you can have coffee. This is where we learn about the word “Equanimous.”

Next up, Gothamist reporter Rebecca Fishbein details her coverage of the fallout between injury attorneys Cellino and Barnes. Rebecca shares what she’s uncovered and helps us imagine their jingle with a few syllables removed.

Finally, Adin Penner, a hip hop and fashion photographer talks about how he went from drifting in cars to snapping pictures with Canons, and explains that he rarely sleeps because he’s sick with a disease called “ambition.”

Adin also talks about shooting the surprise birthday party for Lil Uzi Vert and his work with the clothing line, Santa Monroe.

So tune in now! You won’t believe your ears.

The Johnny and Barry Show in and brought out by The Strokes “Reptillia,” and feature the song “No Time like the Present” by Order Called Funk Three, and is available for download — for free — on the iTunes store and, of course, on Stitcher. We encourage you to send us your bald stories as well as your curmudgeonly thoughts at JohnnyandBarry@cngradio.com.
